It is with great pleasure that the European Section announces that the Annual Meeting in 2009 will be held in Portugal under the Presidency of Dr. Antonio Tavares, former Regent for Portugal. Dr. Tavares became President at the 53rd Annual Meeting Annual Meeting in Athens in June 2008.
Many FICDs remember well the 1992 Meeting, held in Villamoura in the Algarve, when Dr. Gil Alcoforado (Senior) was President - the last Meeting to be held in Portugal. The European Section looks forward to returning to Portugal again some 17 years later and is very grateful to Dr.Tavares and the Portuguese Fellows for their kind hospitality.
HOTELS
The Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon will be the main Hotel of the meeting. Long considered the city's finest hotel, Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon reflects the nobility and charm of historic Portugal, and offers vistas of Eduardo VII Park, St. George's Moorish castle, the Old Town and the Tagus River from the top of one of Lisbon's seven hills.
Le Meridien Park Atlantic Lisboa is the alternative five-star hotel situated in the centre of Lisbon, facing the Eduardo VII Park and next to Marques de Pombal Square.
